JACK DAVIS THOMPSON, 87, of Benton, Kentucky passed away at 8:41Am Monday, January 8, 2018 at Baptist Health of Paducah.
Jack was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Jack was a member of the TL Jefferson Masonic Lodge#622 F & AM; the York Rite, Rizpah Shrine Temple in Madisonville. He was a Clown for 27 years and drove the Shriners van for 12 years. Jack was also known as a professional mole killer.
He is survived by his wife, Lavene Defew Thompson; his daughter, Peggy Barnes and husband Joe of Lexington, KY; his son, Mike Thompson and wife Linda of Benton, KY; three grandchildren, Dusty Hall of Lexington, KY; Vanessa Nace of Paducah, KY and Kimberly Thompson of Ben-ton, KY; two great grandchildren, Ian Cunningham of Paducah, KY and Dalton Hall of Lexing-ton, KY; his brother, Jerry Thompson of Benton, KY; several nieces and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Rosebud Darnall, Patsy Lynn Darnell, Peggy Jewell Thompson, Ina Belle Thompson, Verda Louise Thompson and James M. "Country" Thompson.

Services: Jack had made a request that all of his family and friends wear blue jeans to his funeral. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Joe Barnes will officiate and burial will follow in the Birmingham Cemetery.
Visitation: Friends may call from 11:00AM until the funeral hour, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Masonic Rites will be held at 1:00PM.
